Multi-Station Summary for Snow

Description:

This routine creates a table containing summarized snowfall and snow depth data for all stations in a climate division, county or state that have records for a given range of dates. The snowfall portion of the tables includes total snowfall in inches ("Obs"), greatest snowfall in a single day during the period of interest (and date of occurrence), and the percent of snowfall data available for this period. The snow depth portion of the table includes the percent of non-missing days during the period with an inch or more of snow on the ground, the maximum and minimum snow depth during the period (and dates of occurrence) and the percent the snow depth data that was available during the period. Values of "TR" in the output indicate a "trace". Dashes (-) indicate missing data or a variable that is not recorded by the station.

Output can be sorted by county or climatological division. The sample presented below is for all climate division in the state of Connecticut.

The user can select the percent of data that must be available for a station to be included in the table. You can get more information on this setting.

It is important to be aware of the fact that not all weather stations have the same time of observation. In a given summary some stations may report at midnight, others in the morning and others in the afternoon. Snowfall data presented in the table is for the 24 hours ending at the time of observation, whatever that may be. Snow depth is the depth at the time of observation.
